Home » Friendship, Fireworks, and Final Days: Closing day of #HSJ50

Shalom Y’all,

It’s hard to believe that #HSJ50 is already over! Our summer was jam-packed with smiles, singing, laughter, and love, all in this beautiful Jewish community we and our campers got to call home! Check out our session in review video to see the magic!  Watching this incredible group of young people grow together as a family and as individuals was a true joy, and we can’t wait to welcome them all home again next summer! While we are sad to see them leave, we are beyond grateful for the joy, compassion, and enthusiasm they brought to our Kehila Kedosha!

The session ended with some favorite camp traditions. MOME day was celebrated on Monday, with campers participating in wacky activities such as water-balloon rafterball, pokemon, points with Posners, and fun with Anna and Nadav! We always try to ensure that our last full day of activities is as engaging and memorable as possible with special programs like these, and our campers always bring their enthusiasm and joy to make these final hours of camp incredible! We also had our annual session slideshow, featuring all of our campers and showing the amazing fun we have had these past weeks, as well as this session’s camp torah, a comical presentation of the story of the summer of the entire camp! Finally, we had friendship circles by unit and headed back to the cabins for the final time this summer.

The final days of camp are always bittersweet. We know our campers have missed you and their homes so much, and yet we also know that the second they leave the countdown to summer 2020 begins. We just wanted to pause and take a moment to thank all of you for everything you have done to make this session possible. Thank you for sharing your incredible children with us. Thank you for recognizing the impact of Jewish summer camps, and supporting them. Thank you for making Jacobs Magic happen. We could not be more proud of the session we had with these campers, and the community they made with us. Thank you for making it possible.

With Gratitude,

Anna Herman
