Podcasts, Messy Night and Dan Nichols – Session 1, Week 2
Shabbat Shalom from Jacobs Camp!
It has been an amazing week, and time is flying! There is nothing better than summertime at Jacobs and we are so lucky to be here. A big thank you to all of our camp parents and our entire community for helping us get here!
This week, we had a special visit from our favorite Jewish rock star, Dan Nichols, who gave an amazing all-camp concert and led our campers in Kehillah throughout the week. Campers have also been hard at work creating episodes of Camp Comments, the Jacobs Camp Podcast! You can check out all of the episodes here.
Now, we are preparing for a delicious Shabbat dinner of BBQ brisket, noodle kugel, challah, roasted carrots and peach cobbler. Tomorrow, campers will have a chance to try Shabboptionals, which are fun optional activities that are available during Shabbat free time!
You can see a bit of all the fun we are having in this week-in-review video here.
This week, our Olim campers had a blast celebrating Mardi Gras in June with their own parade through camp! They also had an amazing messy night and became super heroes in a fun evening program planned by our Solelimers. We are so sad they are leaving on Sunday!
Garin also had an epic messy night! They especially loved the messy relay races and sliding down the waterslide. Each Garin cabin enjoyed a special bunk night planned just for them by their counselors, which included activities like an ice cream and gaga party, a neon pool party and a disco party!
Maskilim enjoyed a lake swim party under a real double rainbow! Our Maskilimers also got to show off their talents in their unit’s talent show, and had some bunk night fun with their cabins!
Talmidim is having a blast with their specialty camps this week! The adventure specialty camp mastered the teeter totter with teamwork. The whole unit enjoyed a pool party together, and had an all-out game of dodgeball.
Solelim spent the week shadowing older staff members, learning a ton, and planning programs for the younger units. They are such a wonderful addition to the Jacobs Camp team, and we are so excited for them to start in their assigned units next week!
This week has been a blast and we are so excited for everything to come. Shabbat shalom to all of our Jacobs Camp families!
Love,
Anna
