Anna Blumenfeld Herman , Camp Director
Anna is so excited to be the Director of the URJ Henry S. Jacobs Camp. Anna grew up in Dothan, AL, and began attending the Henry S. Jacobs Camp at age 11. In addition to being a camper, Anna also was a counselor and unit head. Following graduation from the University of Alabama, she became the assistant director at Jacobs, after which she served as a congregational youth director and as the assistant director of the URJ Meetings and Conventions Department. Anna then transitioned to the assistant director of business operations for the URJ’s camping system. In this role, in which she partnered with our 14 URJ camps across North America, she gained a wealth of camping knowledge.
Throughout, she remained connected to Jacobs Camp as a lay leader, serving as the Camp Committee - Development Committee Chair. She also met her husband Nadav at Jacobs Camp, and last fall, surrounded by family and many friends from Jacobs and the URJ, they were married at the chapel on Lake Gary.
Anna is thrilled to be returning home to lead the Jacobs community, and to inspire generations of future campers to create Jacobs “magic” every summer
Joshua Posner, Assistant Director
Joshua Posner was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and has been coming to Jacobs Camp for as many summers as he can remember. Joshua was on staff for five summers, serving as a Gesher, counselor, Sports Department Head, and Gesher Director.
Joshua graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in May 2017 with Bachelor of Arts degree in History. At UT, Joshua was active in both Jewish and secular organizations. As a member of Texas Hillel, Joshua co-chaired Israel Block Party, UT’s largest Israeli cultural celebration. Joshua also built on his passion for community service as a member of the Texas Cowboys, one of the university’s great service organizations. His passion for service also took him on two medical mission trips as a board member of Global Medical Training. When he is not on the road visiting our camp families, Joshua is usually found cheering on LSU, UT, or the New Orleans Saints.
Joshua considers Jacobs Camp his home away from home and is so excited to join the year-round team!
Sarah Tucker, NFTY Southern Regional Advisor and Assistant Director
Sarah Tucker grew up in Pensacola, Florida and has always considered Jacobs Camp a second home. After many summers as a camper, Sarah returned as a staff member for five years. As a teen, she also served on the board of her local NFTY youth group, P.A.R.T.Y.
Sarah recently graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor's in Business Administration, specializing in Sports Management. During her time in Gainesville, she became a Jewish leader on campus by interning at UF Hillel and serving on its corporate Board of Directors. She also served in different leadership roles within the Panhellenic community. Sarah's favorite colors are orange and blue, and she loved sporting them on Saturdays to cheer on her Florida Gators. Go Gators!
Sarah is very excited to show her passion for Jewish teen engagement by working with NFTY-Southern region as the Regional Advisor and serving as Jacobs Camp Assistant Director!
