Hi! My Name is Sarah Bate! I am from Mount Laurel NJ, but have been living in New Orleans for 2 YEARS. During the year I am the Director of Community Youth Engagement for Jewish Crescent City Youth, I am so excited to see my JewCCY participants this summer. At camp I will be the Olim A and Chalutzim unit head. This is my 5th summer at HSJ.

My name is Hayden Eichelbaum and I am 18 years old. I am from San Antonio, Texas and this is my first year at Jacobs. I could not be more excited for this Summer! I spent 9 years attending Greene Family Camp, and I am so excited to experience Camp as a counselor. I love spending time doing Camp related Summer activities such as spending time outside, swimming, spending time and having fun. I am also so excited to be surrounded by other Jewish people, and to celebrate Shabbat every weekend! I played Varsity basketball this year and I am attending Texas State Honors College in the Fall. I also love being around people, and I am so excited to meet all the other staff and campers!

My name is Eli Goldman, I am from Little Rock, Arkansas. I went to camp for 7 years and this will be my first year on staff. I will be a counselor this summer, but when I am at home I work in a restaurant. In my free time, I am either, playing video games, playing my guitar/bass, or talking to friends. Camp has had a huge part of my life, and I know if I hadn’t gone to camp as a kid my life would be drastically different.

My name is Gabriel Kertesz and I am from (and have lived all my life in) Homewood, Alabama. I will be attending the University of Chicago this fall and I’m not quite sure what I want to study. I will be a counselor this summer and, while this is my first year on staff, I was a camper for eight years and I am really excited to return to Jacobs Camp! I am an Eagle Scout; I play the trumpet, and I was on the Homewood High School Robotics team and was president of the Scholars’ Bowl team. I am a huge football and basketball fan and at camp, I always enjoy paddling around the lake, swimming, sports, and seeing all of my friends!

Hi, I’m Zack! I’m going into my freshman year at Full Sail University in Orlando with a major in music production after camp this summer. This will be my ninth year at camp, and my first year on staff. As a counselor, I want to make every one of my camper’s time at HSJ just as memorable and impactful as mine was, Camp’s always been my home, and I want to be able to share that comfort and ease with everyone I can! At home, I’m a fan of all things music, gaming, football, and pro wrestling. I’d rather be at Jacobs’ than anywhere else in the world, and I can’t wait to make this summer the best one yet!

Hey, My name is Richard Smith and I’m originally from Metairie, LA, but I have grown up and currently live in Clinton, MS. I am a Junior at the University of Mississippi and am working on my Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice w/ an emphasis in Homeland Security and an Associate’s degree in Psychology. This will be my 5th year at camp, and this will be my second year as a counselor.
