It is always amazing how quickly chants catch on at camp. Whether a unit is chanting “messy night” excited for their messy night evening program or the whole camp on Friday night is chanting “cherry cobbler.” When there is chanting at camp there is excitement building. Which is why we are chanting from the rooftops “every kid goes to camp”
Jacobs Camp is excited to introduce the First Time @ First Session opportunity for first time campers in 3rd through 8th grade to attend first session this summer. Jacobs Camp, through a generous grant from an anonymous funder, has established an incentive program offering $1500 for new campers in our region*. This opportunity can be combined with the Goldring/One Happy Camper incentive grant making camp more affordable than ever.
We are hopeful that with the First Time @ First Session opportunity we can truly get every kid going to camp. We know what 24 days at camp can do to build up a child’s confidence and are beyond excited to share the Jacobs’ Magic with new campers.
Questions about if you qualify for the First Time @ First Session grant or know someone who would be perfect for this opportunity? Contact our Associate Director, Carolyn Harari at charari@urj.org or 601-885-6042.
*Jacobs Camp region includes Arkansas, Alabama, Tennessee, Florida Panhandle, Mississippi, Louisiana
