
Marley Aamodt | Chalutzim Unit Head
Hi! My name is Marley Aamodt, and I am from New Orleans, Louisiana. I am graduating from the University of Georgia this May with a degree in Psychology and a Certificate in Disabilities Studies. I will also be starting my doctorate in August at Belmont’s School of Occupational Therapy in Nashville, TN. This summer will be my 10th summer at Jacobs Camp, and I am so excited to be the Chalutzim Unit Head! Jacobs Camp has had such an impactful and special place in my heart ever since I can remember, and I am so excited I get to come back for another great summer and provide a meaningful experience to more campers.

Rachel Carter | Olim Unit Head
Hi! My name is Rachel, and this is my 5th year on staff at HSJ. I was the Solelim Director first session and this session, I am the Olim Unit Head! I just graduated from SMU in Dallas with my M.S. in Organizational Psychology, and I will be working in HR at Michaels (the craft company!) starting this August. In my free time, I foster kittens (I’ve had 16 over the last year) and I enjoy making charcuterie boards, going on walks, and trying new restaurants. I’m sooo excited to be back at camp this summer!

Lauren Cohen | Program Director
Hi everyone! My name is Lauren Cohen and I am from Atlanta, Georgia. For the past four years, I’ve attended the University of Georgia and will be graduating with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies this May. I am thrilled to be coming back to Jacobs this summer and working as the programming director. I spent seven summers as a camper at Jacobs and this year will be my third year on staff! During the year I helped raise money for Prevent Child Abuse America and Athens Area Homeless Shelter.

Zoe Cole | Operations Director
My name is Zoe Cole, and I am excited to be the Olim unit head this summer! I am from Jackson, MS. I am a college student working for my family business during the year. Aside from school and my family’s restaurant, I work part-time in my local and regional Jewish community. I teach Sunday school at Beth Israel Congregation in Jackson, MS, and I work at NFTY-SO events throughout the school year. This will be my third year on staff at Jacobs camp and my second summer as a unit head. I am excited to meet my campers and become a “veteran” staff member this summer!

Tori East-Harris | Community Care Director
Tori East-Harris, M. Ed., Professional School Counselor, Community Care Director Tori works for the Vicksburg Warren School District in Mississippi and currently teaches 5th grade. Tori has a passion for summer camp and has been involved in the camping community for over 15 years, including time spent at Jacobs Camp last summer. At camps all over the south, Tori has been a camper, counselor, assistant director, and more.

Ana Finger | Talmidim Unit Head
Hi everyone! My name is Ana Finger, and I am SO EXCITED to be back at Jacobs camp! This will be my ninth year at camp and my fifth year on staff! I have been a Talmidim and Chalutzim counselor, an assistant Talmidim unit head, and I could not be more excited to be the Talmidim unit head this summer! I grew up in New Orleans, graduated from Newman in 2021, and am a current junior at New York University. My major is psychology and my minors are Hebrew and Judaic studies, and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Studies. This is going to be the best summer ever, and I cannot wait to welcome everyone home!

Jack Finger | Garin Unit Head
Hi, I’m Jack! I’m originally from New Orleans, but I’ve lived in Louisiana, Utah, California, and Italy. This year, I’m a Unit Head, but during the school year I’m a 9th grade English teacher in Pointe Coupee — A little parish outside of Baton Rouge. I’m also one of the speech and debate coaches there, and I’m proud to say that I’ve just received my teaching license. This is my first summer with Jacobs Camp, so I’m excited to get involved and see what all the fuss is about! Also, before you ask, yes Ana Finger is my younger sister.

Rebecca Lewis | Maskilim Unit Head
Hi! My name is Rebecca Lewis and I am from Memphis, TN. For the last 4 years I have been living in Tuscaloosa attending the University of Alabama majoring in Public Health and minoring in Human Development. I graduate this May and am in the process of applying to jobs in the field of Public Health. In my time at Alabama I have had the privelege of being a part of a research team exploring ways to increase access to doula care in Alabama. Additionally, I’ve served as a social media intern for a nonprofit doula organization based in Birmingham. This will be by 12th summer at camp overall, and 4th summer on staff. I was the Maskilim Unit Head last summer and am so excited to be coming back for a second summer!

Fernando Cervantes Morales | Sports Department Head
I am from mexico. I study textile design. I am the sports department head at camp. This will be my 3rd year. I do not volunteer during the year because i dont have time

Allie Nork | Director of Marketing & Hospitality
Traveling from Lafayette, Louisiana to spend another amazing summer at Henry S. Jacobs Camp, my name is Allie Nork and I am the Director of Marketing & Hospitality! This will be my second year as a staff member and I’m so excited to be back doing what I love. Throughout the year, you can find me running my marketing company, traveling to Louisiana Fairs and Festivals, and trying my hand at new arts and crafts. During the summer season, you can see me working alongside my incredible Media Team, capturing all of the amazing moments at camp! I am so excited to welcome everyone home and I am looking forward to another phenomenal summer filled with Jewish joy!

Aaron Rothko | Director of Jewish Life
My name is Aaron Rothko and I am the Director of Jewish Life this summer. I live in New Orleans, Louisiana and I serve Touro Synagogue throughout the year. This summer, I will be leading song sessions and planning meaningful Jewish experiences for our campers.

Desha Avila Solis | Creative Arts Department Head
I’m Desha, and I’ve been part of Jacobs Camp since 2019! I live in Puebla, Mx, and I’m a communications degree undergraduate. I love going on hikes, exploring nature in general and eating good food. I have done many things at camp but this year I’m the creative arts department head and I’m so exited for this summer.

Marlie Thompson | Staff Care Coordinator
My name is Marlie Thompson and I’m from Birmingham, AL, and I currently study Sociology, Social Justice, and Public Policy at the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!). This summer, I will serve as the Staff Care Coordinator, making sure each staff member at camp is supported and uplifted during the summer. This is my fourth year on staff after 10 years of being a camper. I also volunteer for Camp Dream Street, which is a week long camp for children with physical disabilities held on Jacobs camp ground. I also do advocacy work with the ACLU of Alabama and am involved with other activist organizations on my college campus!
