We Love Our Camp Family and Wish We Could Be Here Forever

As much as we think things change from one summer to the next, they really stay the same in the best way possible! We’re wrapping up another terrific week with our incredible kids—who are going to go out and do amazing things to make this world a better place.

Watch our week in review video to catch some of the awesome highlights!

Olim had so much fun this week: For starters, they played hide and seek and basketball and danced the night away! Career Day was a big hit, complemented by Take an Olimer to Work Day, while the always popular Messy Night, tower swing, and playing with the chickens were other cool activities for Olim. We’re soaking up the last days with Olim and dreading saying goodbye on Sunday.

For Garin, this week brought the Garin/Chalutzim Buddy Reveal, where they found out which Chalutzim camper would be their buddy match. They also did some songwriting, yoga, and optical illusion drawings; played flag football; and put on an outstanding talent show for Chalutzim!

Maskilim had an awesome time in their specialty camp, in the pool, and making nature prints. Microscope Madness was incredible—it’s mindboggling what you can see when looking through those lenses! Fishing and boating on Lake Gary, playing basketball and their unit kehillah rounded out the week for Maskilim.

Talmidim did some great podcasting and printmaking, volleyball, dodgeball, and farming. At Fort Night, they got to dream up and build forts as a teamwork exercise that also was wonderful fun!

Chalutzim played gaga, made their own pickles, went biking, and, as an art project, created beautiful handmade mezuzot for the doorposts of various locations around camp. This week was bunk night for Chalutzim, which is a storied tradition at Jacobs Camp. It is a time when counselors plan a special program just for their cabin.

All of camp got to experience International Night—a chance to learn about the home countries of our international staff and try authentic treats from such places as Mexico, the U.K., Colombia, and more.

No matter what our campers do from day to day, we all know how lucky we are to have this special community, and we’re so grateful to everyone who makes it possible for our kids and the staff to come home to camp every summer. We love our camp family, and as the weeks fly by, we just want to be here forever.

Sending love to all our Jacobs families and wishing you a Shabbat shalom and a terrific weekend.

Love,
Anna
