Love in Action: B’nai Mitzvah Fundraisers for Jacobs Camp

“As each person is obligated to say: ‘For my sake was the world created.’” – Talmud: Sanhedrin 37a
Becoming a B’nai Mitzvah is a meaningful milestone—one that many of our incredible campers choose to mark by giving back to a place that has shaped them: Jacobs Camp. Their love for camp inspires them to create Mitzvah Project fundraisers, ensuring that more kids can experience the magic of camp.
I am continually amazed by the thoughtfulness and generosity of these campers. Their reasons for giving back are deeply personal and profoundly moving.
“Jacobs has influenced me in so many positive ways—from my Jewish values to making me a better person every day. I want to be able to share this experience with other Jewish kids to help them make lifelong memories as well.” – Sydney
“Getting to go to camp is an experience that everyone should get, so raising money to let other kids go to camp is exactly what I wanted.” – Mica
“The highest form of wisdom is kindness.” – Talmud: Berakhot 17a
Through their B’nai Mitzvah Fundraisers, campers have raised thousands of dollars to help provide scholarships for families who need extra financial support. It’s truly inspiring to see current Jacobs Campers making it possible for future generations to experience the joy, friendships, and Jewish community that make camp so special.
If you or your soon-to-be B’nai Mitzvah is interested in supporting Jacobs Camp through a Mitzvah Project Fundraiser, email me at jfijman@urj.org.
