Our Camp. Our Home. Our Future. Together We’re Building It.

Thank you for your generous support of the Jacobs Camp Capital Campaign: Our Camp. Our Home. Our Future.
Together, we have raised over $12,000,000 from 169 donations – an incredible testament to the love our community has for Jacobs Camp, and the importance of securing the future of Jewish life in the Deep South and beyond.
I’m excited for what we’ll accomplish next as we roll out this campaign to the entire Jacobs Camp Family. The responsibility rests with all of us, from current and future camp families to grandparents, alumni, and the broader Jewish community.
This summer, we are already seeing the impact of your donation in action. The Athletic Complex continues to be highlight at camp, offering a beautiful, air-conditioned space that allows for expanded program offerings including basketball, pickleball, gaga, gymnastics, indoor climbing, workout equipment, and flexible evening program space.
We are also thrilled to have our Solelim (Counselor-In-Training) participants living in the newly built and dedicated Richard “Dick” Orgel Bayit. Complete with a lake-view wraparound porch, the Bayit has quickly become a beloved part of camp life. It was an honor to welcome the Orgel Family and members of the Camp Committee for the dedication of this building earlier this summer, and we are so grateful for this amazing new space.
Soon after camp ends, we will begin the renovation of cabins 1-12 for Summer 2026. The Facilities Committee has worked hard in conjunction with our contractors to create a plan for the cabins that increases bathroom privacy, updates the cabin configuration, refreshes the fixtures and finishes, and replaces the HVAC units. They have designed a cabin that will serve us well for the next generation of campers!
While we have accomplished a lot in a short amount of time, we still have a big job ahead of us! Jacobs Camp is essential for Jewish life in the South, and its future depends on our collective commitment. Together we can ensure that our beloved Jewish summer home continues to thrive for generations to come.
I invite you to read more about our progress in the blog posts and videos below.
L’shalom,
Anna Herman
Director
