Donate for Today and the Future

If you’ve visited camp lately, attended one of our Capital Campaign launch parties, or just followed along online, you’ve likely heard a lot of excitement about the future of Jacobs Camp.

Our community is incredibly passionate about supporting camp, and we are so grateful. One question that comes up a lot is: “Which Jacobs Camp campaign should I give to? The Annual Campaign or the Our Home. Our Camp. Our Future. Capital Campaign?”

It is a great question! While both campaigns are fueled by the same love for Jacobs Magic, they serve two very different and equally vital purposes. The Annual Campaign fills immediate needs today, while the Capital Campaign will build a foundation for the next generation of campers. You can read more about each below!

The Annual Campaign: For Today

The Annual Campaign happens every year, and makes each summer possible by funding the immediate needs of our campers and staff for the upcoming session. When you give to the Annual Campaign, you ensure that camp remains accessible, high-quality, and fun for the children who are arriving this summer.

What it funds:

  • Scholarships: Ensuring that any Jewish child who wants to attend has the financial means to do so.
  • Program Magic: Funding those “extra” experiences that make camp unforgettable like the Discovery Ropes Course, JCAN, and the new lake toys.
  • Small Facility Improvements: The “un-glamorous” but vital stuff that keeps us running, like fixing air conditioners, fresh coats of paint on the cabins, and installing large fans.

The Capital Campaign: For The Future

The historic Our Camp. Our Home. Our Future. Capital Campaign is looking ahead to ensure a bright future for Jacobs Camp. With an ambitious goal of $18 million, we will modernize and update our over 50 year-old facility so it can serve our community for generations to come. Unlike the annual campaign, this is a once-in-a-generation campaign.

What it funds:

  • In Process: Camper Cabin Renovations, Construction of a new Lakefront Pavilion, and Funding a Facility Sustainability Fund
  • Coming Soon: Kitchen and Dining Hall Renovation, Tennis Court Revitalization, Construction of new Beit Am Visitor Center, and Infrastructure Resilience Funds
  • Completed: Athletic Complex Renovation and Construction of The Bayit (a home for Counselors-in-Training)

Why Support Both?

The truth is, they rely on each other. If we only fund the Capital Campaign but neglect the Annual Campaign, we might have beautiful cabins but no scholarships to help kids fill them. Conversely, if we only fund the Annual Campaign, we can provide scholarships, but eventually, our aging buildings won’t be able to provide the safe, modern environment our children deserve.

Giving to the Annual Campaign is how we love camp today. Giving to the Capital Campaign is how we ensure the strength of our camp for tomorrow.

Together, we are securing Our Camp, Our Home, and Our Future.
