Dear Jacobs Camp Community,
As another Shabbat arrives, our hearts remain in the East with our Jacobs Camp family in Israel. We are praying for shalom. For peace, safety, healing, and the well-being of our communities and our loved ones. We are praying for Israel, for friends, for family, and for an end to violence.
Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to our general message board for our Israeli staff. We know that our families also want to share direct support with the staff members who cared for and loved their children over the past summers. I am so happy to introduce a new way for you to share personalized messages of support directly with individual Israeli staff members through this form.
Even if you don’t have a specific staff member in mind, you can also send a more general message of support that we will share. If you are comfortable sharing your email address on the form, please do, in case the staff member would like to reply. However, we do ask our families to understand that a response may be difficult at this time.
Additionally, I’d like to share this list of URJ resources on how you can support Israel.
During these times Nadav and I have never been prouder to be part of such this special Jewish community, which is such a light for the entire Jacobs Camp team.
Please take care, and know we send our love, strength and support.

Anna B. Herman
Anna has lead Jacobs Camp as Director since 2014. Anna grew up in Dothan, AL, and began attending the Henry S. Jacobs Camp at age 11. In addition to being a camper, Anna also was a counselor and unit head. Following graduation from the University of Alabama, she became the assistant director at Jacobs, after which she served as a congregational youth director and as the assistant director of the URJ Meetings and Conventions Department. Anna then transitioned to the assistant director of business operations for the URJ’s camping system. In this role, in which she partnered with our 14 URJ camps across North America, she gained a wealth of camping knowledge.
Thank You 2022 Donors! The support of our generous community has truly been the backbone of everything we do at Jacobs Camp. In 2022, we saw record enrollment numbers with over 525 campers attending one of our sessions, and we are on track for similar enrollment...
Last Saturday, April 1, 80 teens and 20 staff members from NFTY SO Spring Kallah went to Rolling Fork, Mississippi together to volunteer in the distribution center following a devastating tornado. Our teens worked for three hours, unloading the bus with donations,...
