Spring Kallah and My NFTY-So Journey

Back in 2018, as a wide-eyed kid in 6th grade, I dipped my toes into the world of NFTY at a cool event called JYG. But when I hit the right age for NFTY events, something called COVID showed up, turning everything virtual. Finally, in March of 2022, we returned to...

Southern & Jewish, the ISJL’s Regional Conference

Jacobs Camp is truly a home-away-from home for me. I spent sixteen amazing summers in Utica! My first summer there, I was eight years old. I didn’t miss a single summer at camp (until I went on a NFTY-Israel trip) and then returned to serve as counselor, unit head,...

Have You Ever Doodled a Circle…?

Have you ever doodled a circle and had that satisfying feeling of completion when the end reaches the beginning and you lift your pencil to find that the free hand circle you just drew is nearly perfect? That is exactly what Jacobs Camp Shabbat at Temple Sinai the last few years has felt like to me.

L’dor Vador From 1982 to 2018

For eleven summers, I have always called 3863 Morrison Road my home away from home. I have made countless friendships and memories that are still strong to this day. Like many campers, I am a second generation Jacobs camper, with both of my parents spending time at Jacobs Camp. This ultimately led to their meeting and eventual marriage in 1997.

Letter from Anna (July 27, 2018)

I can’t believe the best summer ever is winding down, but this week at camp had so many great highlights that we’ll remember for a long time to come! Incredible fun, outstanding adventure, and terrific activities filled the days; talent shows, bonfires for s’mores, and bunk nights fill the evenings – and everyone is having a genuinely good time being together as a community in our special summer home!
