• Preparing for Summer 2018!

Shalom from Jacobs Camp! We are counting down the days until it’s time to welcome you home. Opening day is just days away and we can’t wait! While we are busy here in Utica preparing for your children to have the summer of their lives, we know there is a lot to do on your end too. Between the packing lists and filling out forms – it is a lot to think about!

  • A Message from Anna: April 2018

Thanks to all of you who reached out after my last blog post during the winter. It was wonderful to hear from people I already know and to connect with lots of others I haven’t yet met – especially during the seasons when we don’t have many chances to be together in person. I appreciate the time you took to be in touch, the newsy updates you shared, and the chance to nurture our relationships, whether they’re decades old or fairly new!

  • L’Dor V’Dor

My daughter, Maya, age 7 ½, is an extremely social and enthusiastic child who loves pretty much everything she tries. So, this year toward the beginning of 1st grade, I decided to show her the promotional video on Jacob’s website.  I was thinking in the back of my mind that I would just plant the seed of interest, since to me, she was a bit young to go this summer.

  • Rabbi’s Message

Jacobs Camp is growing. Our bunks are bursting at the seams. Can we imagine a climate-controlled indoor athletic facility, with appropriate equipment for basketball, gymnastics, fitness, and more? Can we envision a “real” space for STEM? These are good “problems” to have, and I am confident that Jacobs Camp leadership and all of our communities will rise to the challenge.

  • Matzah Moments

  • Build Your Future: Work at Camp

Benjamin Hausmann is a recent graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and just started working at Tokyo Electron as a Field Applications Engineer where he maintains quality and control for semiconductor wafer processing equipment. We cannot begin to explain what any of that means, but we can explain how he got there.

  • A Word from our New Assistant Directors

Words cannot describe my excitement about becoming an Assistant Director at our camp. Clearly the shoes left for me to fill by my predecessor, Adam O., will be large because of the commitment, joy, and success he brought to this job and community.

Letter from Anna (July 28, 2017)

It is so hard to believe that this is our last Shabbat of the summer! This week was a full one for our whole community, as we focused on Musar Avodah (work ethic) and Yoshrah (integrity). This week has really shown exactly how strong our community is!
